badass

badass
n, adj
American (a person who is) aggressive, antisocial or worthless. The word, first popular among black Americans, is almost always now used with an element of approval or admiration, albeit some-times grudging. The 'ass' component simply signifies 'individual'. In the 1970s the term came into use among whites, but has not spread to Britain or Australia.
